Hello everyone! This is my first blog in here and thought I would provide a brief introduction on my background and share something I learnt along the way to start with. Born in India into a family of Agricultural scholars and Businessmen, I had tough decisions to make early on to choose between the options life had to offer. It took me years to figure out what my passion was and ended up starting my Under graduation in Horticulture and went further to do a Dual degree program in Environmental Landscape Horticulture at Dalhousie University, Nova Scotia, Canada. My major hobby was to paint and realized when I was 19 that my passion was onto something else, which was Landscape Architecture as back then I thought I could use my artistic skills and creative abilities into designing an urban space. Years later when I was still an Undergrad, I actively looked for short term programs in Landscape Architecture which is when I applied to Harvard Graduate School of Design and University of California - Berkeley for a summer program. I got into both universities but had to choose Harvard GSD as it was my dream school when I was a kid. After successfully completing the program at Harvard GSD, I just knew that I wanted to be a Landscape Architect. You know that feeling when you have a revelation that this is it and you're just so sure about something. It was that moment for me. I then started applying to Universities for my Masters program in Landscape Architecture and chose Oslo School of Architecture and Design as I found the Curriculum particularly interesting. So, that's how I ended up here in Norway. I applied to Miss Norway 2018 during the Christmas vacation and was pleasantly surprised to have got in. I then decided to make use of this opportunity to use my voice for better and reach for an audience that can also benefit from the organization. What I take from my experience and what you as readers can also take is that your passion can change or grow or expand but either way, you just have to keep the flame in your heart burning and whatever that is, keep pursuing that. I also believe being kind is one of the most important traits to possess in one's life and in helping one another at difficult times. It is so easy to lose sight, to not be kind and be clouded by negative emotions. Trust me, it's worth the fight. The fight that is within you to stay positive at all times. Afterall it is the only planet we have and we're the only highly intelligent species on this planet as of now. So, here's to new ideas, lateral collaborations, sound environment, dutiful protection of other living beings and not the least to being kind to one another!
